This handy portable device has two thin-film solar cells that total 1W of power and operate at 7-8 Volts (depending on the intensity of sun.) Just open it up in the sun and wait until the charge indicator signals that the batteries have been fully charged. Once charged you can either take them out of the enclosure and use them in your portable device, or you can just attach one of the handy universal power connectors and power your device that way. Many MP3 players which require universal power adapters can be powered using this solar charger. Unfortunately this device is not compatible with iPods unless you have a conversion power cord (from universal power adapter to iPod adapter - not included).
